Creating a new brand and new website for our client Caledon Building & Design began with an in-depth study of their business, their corporate values, their brand strengths and their website user profiles. With 52 Pick-up, it isn’t just about pretty pictures; it’s about strategic design that answers to a highly detailed analysis of our clients’ corporate aspirations and vision. Once we embarked on our mission to identify the rationale for the brand refresh and new site, it became clear that a name change was in order. And so, Caledon Build replaced Caledon Building & Design.

Our goal was to position Caledon Build as a highly experienced and competent project management company that thrives on the construction of upscale homes using three building systems including BONE Structure, Timberframe and Conventional construction.

The new name was designed into a logo that takes its cue from the "International Style" of design. This clean approach to the wordmark gives Caledon a strong, clean brand with detailing that is subtle yet commands attention. The font has been customized to provide a structural grid to the letterforms that align the top with the bottom. There are no superfluous details or flourishes. Each component of the wordmark contributes to its message and readability. The result: an exceptionally powerful wordmark that jumps off the page and into the psyche.

We designed the wordmark in Prussian Blue – a strong corporate colour that is conservative and communicates competency and longevity. The logo was used on letterhead, business cards, signage, brochures as well as clothing and other swag.

We then turned to the creation of a new website for Caledon Build. We engaged the talents of several of our in-house designers to work together to craft a site that we believe represents the Caledon Build story perfectly. We utilized a simple navigation and bold imagery with minimal copy – allowing the site to communicate visually. The site was built on a Wordpress platform, allowing the client to update content themselves. It is responsive and offers an exceptional user experience.
